04/10/00 Members
of the public are often frustrated with the speed at which Councillors
can get things done. At the end of the day we are relying on the
Council to act on concerns and that can take time. For example attached
is a letter the Council sent to me in October of 2000 in response
to a letter I sent in September 1999(over a year later) concerning
a piece of graffiti in Shankill.
12/11/00 Wastage
of money in Council contracts can be very frustrating. A local
example of this was the traffic calming measures on the Wyatville
Road. Many estates with young children urgently need traffic calming
measures yet when they petition the Councli they are told there
is no money. Perhaps one of the reasons for this is that large amounts
of money are spent each year putting right the mistakes made in
the previous year's traffic calming scheme(for example Avondale
Raod and Wyatville Road).
04/11/00 Letter
to the Manager concerning his failure to implement the Customer
Service Charter for the Refuse Collection Service.
